Indian Railways will operate a special tour on Mahaparinirvana Express that connects the Buddhist shrines across India.
The tour is currently scheduled for 13-Feb, 09-Mar, 20-Mar-2010
The all paid expenses tour will cost Rs 14,999/- for AC-3tier, Rs. 19,999/- for AC-2tier.
The train, Mahaparinirvana Express, is a Buddhist circuit special train, that will pass through the places of importance in Lord Gautama Buddha’s Life: Place where he was born (Lumbini), Gained enlightenment (Bodhgaya), First taught (Sarnath), and Attained Nirvana (Kushinagar).
This Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in India will go through Delhi, BodhGaya, Nalanda, Rajgir, Varanasi, Saranath, KushiNagar, Lumbini, Sravasti, Agra.
